It is about several years of hard work, money spent, family hopes and their dreams for the betterment of life through public service.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is therefore not a matter of prejudging the allegations and finding people guilty. Recruitment has been posted by the official website of the JPSC under Advertisement No. 01\/2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The examination has since come into controversy after the result of the preliminary examination was declared.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Several issues have been pointed out by candidates and students regarding the results, including the lack of category-wise cut off details, doubts about the merit list, and alleged discrepancies regarding the OMR answer sheets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The controversy further escalated when an alleged carbon copy of the OMR answer sheet came out through social media platforms. As per allegations mentioned in the petition, this answer sheet allegedly revealed that a qualifying candidate had attempted only 48 questions in Paper-I.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It must be borne in mind that while allegations and facts are two very different things. Material circulating through social media needs to be independently verified for its validity and full context. This is exactly why an impartial inquiry is essential.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This brings us to the unclear point whether the viral image should by itself be considered concrete proof of something. In fact, the question should be whether the independent examination records can prove their case.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_Did_I_Approach_the_Supreme_Court\"><\/span><b>Why Did I Approach the Supreme Court?\u00a0<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The choice to go to the Supreme Court was made amidst lasting fears expressed by aspirants of JPSC and the general public.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Protests have broken out in Ranchi as students raise their voices for greater transparency and accountability in the process of recruitment. In recent times, reports have also highlighted the ongoing controversy around the 14th examination of JPSC and the investigation into the alleged misconduct.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In my opinion, an examination being conducted for appointments to the public service must command trust among the general public.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A civil services examination is not like any other competitive examination. The candidates take years to prepare for it. Many quit their jobs, miss other career opportunities and even shift to coaching centers in order to prepare for the same.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In case there is any allegation about such an examination, it is not right to ask the students to forget about it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The answer lies in the evidence.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Does_the_JPSC_2025_Supreme_Court_PIL_Seek\"><\/span><b>What Does the JPSC 2025 Supreme Court PIL Seek?\u00a0<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Various reliefs sought in this public interest litigation in relation to the said irregularities in JPSC Prelims 2025 include:<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Cancellation_of_the_Preliminary_Examination\"><\/span><b>1. Cancellation of the Preliminary Examination<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the key reliefs sought in the petition is the cancellation of the preliminary examination held on 19th April 2026 and subsequent conduct of the preliminary examination in a different manner under the guidance of Hon\u2019ble Supreme Court.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is not an attempt to create any problem for candidates who have qualified. It is an attempt to give all the candidates a level playing field if it is found after an independent inquiry that the examination was compromised beyond repair.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Independent_and_Time-Bound_Investigation\"><\/span><b>2. Independent and Time-Bound Investigation<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The petition calls for an independent, impartial, comprehensive and time-bound investigation into the irregularities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The petition calls for an investigation by the CBI or otherwise a special independent committee with the head being either a retired Supreme Court Judge or a retired Chief Justice\/Judge of a High Court who is not from Jharkhand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is speculated that the committee will comprise experts from various fields like forensic science, information technology, examination security, OMR evaluation, cyber security and public administration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This becomes crucial since the modern day competitive examination process is not just about the printed question paper.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are several stages from examination centres to OMR sheets to coding, scanning, data processing, evaluation, results and finally digital records.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thus the investigation must encompass all of them.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_Is_OMR_Verification_So_Important_in_JPSC_2025\"><\/span><b>Why Is OMR Verification So Important in JPSC 2025?\u00a0<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OMR sheets lie at the very center of the controversy regarding the JPSC Prelims 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The OMR sheet of a particular candidate is much more than a mere piece of paper. Protest in Jharkhand\u00a0<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each and every digit in the recruitment test has its own story behind it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The young men and women who have taken up arms against the JPSC 2025 are not merely names in the merit list; they are youth who have been working for years to crack a highly competitive test.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are those students who even held protests despite bad weather. There are also news reports about hunger strikes and demonstrations taking place in Ranchi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Frustration should not always be understood politically.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the right of the students to know whether the test which will make their career has been conducted in a fair manner or examination of Jharkhand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to The Indian Express, the current controversy has brought back questions surrounding the public recruitment examinations conducted by JPSC, but the current controversy includes questions about cut-offs, merit list, OMR sheets and the investigation process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This makes institutional reforms part of the conversation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even when there will be an investigation to conclude that the allegations were unsubstantiated, the process of investigating will help in regaining confidence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And if there is a misconduct then there is the need for accountability.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The larger objective would be to ensure that in the future no candidates have to go through the same application for judicial interference is being made because the matter relating to the credibility of a major public examination needs to be sorted out by a fair process of coaching.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It could mean giving up jobs to study full-time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It could mean parents eagerly waiting for their wards to pass.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It could mean a person\u2019s aspiration to join public service and serve society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That is why any charges regarding exam fairness should not be taken lightly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand, no charge can turn out to be a conclusion without proof.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The right way is an independent inquiry into the original papers to determine what really be taken seriously and respectfully.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s why I have decided to file a case in the Honorable Supreme Court.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span
